Having worked alongside Porchlight Homeless Charity for many years, I was asked to sponsor their first ever Award Ceremony. Kent College kindly donated the Chapel and the Canteen at the Canterbury School to hold the event.

After speaking to Porchlight they were unsure how they could transform the areas to create the feel and look of an ‘Awards Night’ to celebrate the success of many of the service users given such a small budget.

I felt so passionate about their charity that I gave up my time for free and said I would design, dress and actively rally enough companies to dress the rooms to create the desired finish they wished for within the given budget.

The team worked around the clock right up to the day of the event finishing just as guests were arriving. Porchlight were over the moon with the finish we created on such a limited budget and Kent college said our finish far outweighed their expectations.

It was an emotional and highly rewarding evening just another great reason why I love the work I do!
