Our client had a requirement for a head of planning and regeneration with programme delivery also within development. This entailed managing major commercial and residential developments, as part of the responsibilities for strategic planning and regeneration, development management and building control. There was a need for an interim resource that could take up the rains, drive the team forward and work independently – key to achieving this was the recruitment of an individual who had a track record of success as an interim within this space.
The client had extensively advertised for this role and exhausted all the normal lines of recruitment yet failed to attract the experience they required for this role thus they instructed Hammond Clarke.
We met the client and received a detailed brief, we listened and understood the dynamics of the person the client wished to attract. Our dedicated team got to work and from our extensive network, we spoke to a very select number of interims across the UK who we were confident had the required style and credentials for this position. Hammond Clarke made three recommendations within one week.
Our client decided to meet with all three choices selected. Hammond Clarke arranged interviews and after the two stage process was completed, the best candidate was offered the role.
We successfully closed the candidate and they started on the contract.
Hammond Clarke have continued to work with this client and have provided the client with a further seven interims to work within regeneration under this head we placed.
